The European Charter of Abbeys and Cistercian sites

created in 1988, the Charter now regroups more of 150 abbeys and sites in 7
countries throughout Europe. The Charter's Northern France-Belgium network, is
presently composed of a group of about 20 monastic sites (Alder, Foigny, Bohéries,
Vauclair, Valloires, Villers, Vaucelles, Flines, Signy…). Some regular meetings allow
discussions about running and future of the Cistercian sites, which help in the
management of common projects.
