The National Trust

founded in 1895, the National Trust today is responsible for 248 000 hectares of
cultural landscape in Britain, of which a large majority is open to the public. More
than a simple collection of places to visit, the National Trust is a supporting force for
the local economy, creating jobs and restoring the bond between the population
and the natural and cultural environment.
